Concert Bands

Each year, Year 7 students have the opportunity to play a musical instrument and participate in the Concert Band Program. Concert Bands consist of Flutes, Oboes, Clarinets, Bassoon, Saxophones, French Horn, Trumpets, Trombones, Euphonium, Tubas, Electric Bass, Piano and various Percussion. Our Concert Bands have about 45 students participating in each. There are three Concert Bands in the program, Junior (Year 7 Band), Concert Band (Intermediate Band) and the Wind Symphony (Senior Band).  Students progress through these bands by audition as a part of their end of year Recitals. Concert Bands perform at two concerts each year, as well as participating in the Royal South Street Competition in Ballarat, Victorian Bands Festival at Federation Square and various other school functions and wider-community events.

Stage Bands

The Box Hill High School Stage Band is a non-compulsory Band for students wanting to broaden their playing experience.  The Stage Band consists of Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Bass, Guitar, Piano and Percussion. The band participates in the Victorian Bands Festival, Royal South Street in Ballarat and performs at the local RSL and Dizzy’s Jazz Club in Richmond. The Band is a regular performer at school and in the wider community.
